ABOUT 500 women in Plateau State have been presented with items ranging from gas-cookers, deep freezers, grinding machines and generators courtesy the Renewed Hope Initiative Social Investment Programme (RHI-SIP) of the Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

THE NIGERAI STANDARD reports that the event took place at the Crispan Hotel, along Rayfield road Jos, recently.

Plateau State First Lady, Barrister Mrs. Helen Mutfwang, who is the state coordinator of RHI, appreciated Governor Caleb Mutfwang for making the programme a huge success.

Senator Tinubu congratulated all the beneficiaries and said that the women economic empowerment programme that is going on in the country through RHI office was geared towards making women’s life a better one for their families.

Earlier in her welcome remarks, Plateau State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon Mrs. Caroline Dafur, lauded Plateau State First Lady, Barrister Mrs. Mutfwang, for considering the plight of women and children in the state.

Dafur advised the beneficiaries to make proper use of all the items given them and warned beneficiaries against attempts to sell such items.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with THE NIGERIA STANDARD shortly after receiving the items expressed gratitude to God and thanked Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Plateau State First Lady, Barrister Mrs. Mutfwang for putting smiles on the faces of Plateau women with this laudable gesture.

The beneficiaries described the programme as life touching because some of them never knew that there was going to be something good that was coming free to their families at this time and promised to make good use of the items.

Our correspondent reports that the items presented include; 125 grinding machines, 125 generators, 125 gas-cookers and 125 deep freezers.
