The people of Jos North have officially endorsed Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State for second term in office and vowed to speak with one voice in support of his re-election bid in 2027.
This endorsement was made at a rally recently held at Ornate Pavilion in Jos, in appreciation of Governor Mutfwang’s good governance on the Plateau.
In his good will message, former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Simon Mwadkwon, said he was overwhelmed by the great crowd that turned out in solidarity for the endorsement of Governor Mutfwang.
Mwadkwon also commended the governor for restoring the dignity of the state and living up to the expectations of its citizens.
He stated that Governor Mutfwang had not disappointed the people of Plateau State since assuming office in 2023, as evident in his people-oriented projects, programmes and policies which had earned him widespread acceptance across the state and beyond.
The Senator also praised the Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council, John Kyohroh Christopher, and his Deputy, Sani Kabiru Garkuwa, the Legislative Arm of the Council, government appointees and stakeholders for unanimously endorsing the governor for a second term.
He noted that the governor’s achievements within a short period had surpassed the performance of the previous administration’s eight year-tenure.
“You have written your name in the sands of time, and history will remember you for what you have done today. I have witnessed the endorsement of the governor by my 15 support groups and the PDP in Riyom Local Government. These are testaments to the sterling performance and credible leadership of the governor. The people are endorsing him willingly without any form of inducement,” Mwadkwon remarked.
Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council, John Kyohroh Christopher, said, “the rally is organised to appreciate God for giving us a governor like Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, following a careful assessment of his achievements and the quality leadership he has provided since assuming office.”
He thanked the governor for the numerous projects executed in Jos North and Plateau State in the areas of health, agriculture, education, tourism and human capital development in just two years in office.
“So we have come out enmass to say thank you and pray that God will give him more wisdom to continue with the good job he is doing,” Christopher stated.
“In view of this, we the people of Jos North have seen the light in what the governor is doing, and we are all out to endorse Governor Caleb Mutfwang for second term come 2027 because we are confident that he has no match in Plateau State,” he declared.
He also called on eligible voters to take advantage of the window of registration being open to obtain their voter’s cards so that they would all vote for Barrister Caleb Mutfwang in 2027.
Other speakers, including Plateau State Commissioner of Lands and Survey, Peter Gai Esq.; Jos North PDP Chairman, Elijah Azi; former House of Representatives member for Jos North/Bassa, Aminu Zang; and Hajiya Jamila Gwandu, commended Governor Mutfwang for not disappointing the people who freely entrusted him with the mandate to lead.
They collectively called on citizens to continue giving him the needed support to achieve his vision for the state.
The well-attended event attracted prominent personalities, including Silas Patrick Dung, Chairman of Jos South LGA, Bashir Lawandi Datti, Commissioner for Water and Energy, Ishaya Gyang, leader and members of the Jos North Legislative Arm, top government appointees at local and state levels, elders, women, youth, support groups and party loyalists.
