THE Plateau State chapter of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) has inaugurated its newly elected executive officials to pilot the affairs of the association for the next fouryears.
The inaugu ration ceremony was held at Ati Production, along St. Pirans Road, Jos, recently.
The newly inaugurated executive officials are: Williams A. Kelvin -Governor; Godwin Francis -Secretary; Larr Nanma Mechack – Assistant Secretary; Fidelis Ukuna -Treasurer; Lucy Akula -Financial Secretary; Terry Gang – Public Relations Officer (PRO); Mama Lash – Welfare Officer; and Philip Gado-Chief Whip.
Shortly before the swearing-in, Chairman of the Electoral Committee (ELCOM), Mr. Joshua Joel Bako, charged the new leaders to give their best and make history by uniting artists and ensuring that musicians in Plateau State become more relevant in society.
In his acceptance speech, the new PMAN Governor, Williams A. Kelvin, expressed gratitude to God for the privilege to serve and thanked the Electoral Committee for conducting what he described as a transparent and fair election.
“Our strength as musicians lies in our diversity, as we come from different backgrounds and experiences, yet we are united by one passion. In line with the PMAN constitution, we prioritise the welfare of our members—from identity course to professional opportunities, from training to empowerment—we will ensure that no musician is left behind and our resources will be used to uplift the community,” he stated.
He further pledged to strengthen the structure of PMAN in Plateau State so that members’ voices would count at the national level, adding that the new leadership would build partnerships with government bodies, carry every member along and organise programmes to attract more artists to join the association.
