In solidarity with the newly appointed Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard Doro, Governor Caleb Mutfwang said he would continue advocating for the unity of Plateau people, stressing that unity remains the cornerstone of the state’s sustainable development, peace and progress.

The governor made this known recently at a reception in Abuja honouring Dr. Doro, an illustrious son of Plateau State.

The event, attended by top government officials, lawmakers, traditional rulers and diaspora dignitaries, reflected a shared sense of Plateau identity.

Governor Mutfwang expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for appointing Plateau sons and daughters into strategic national positions: “This evening is a celebration of what God can do. When He opens a door, no man can shut it. But beyond celebration, this appointment reminds us that when national opportunities are shared, they are done on the basis of states, not parties. We must, therefore, speak with one voice, support our representatives, and project Plateau as one indivisible people.”

He commended Dr. Doro’s professionalism, humility and diaspora experience, assuring him of the state’s prayers and institutional support.

“We have no shortage of talent on the Plateau. What we need is unity. If we rally around our own, more doors will open for our people. I am confident that Dr. Doro will do Nigeria proud, and more importantly, make Plateau proud.”

Dr. Bernard Doro described his appointment as a divine trust and a call to selfless service: “This task is bigger than me. It requires a united front. I’m calling on all of us to join hands to fight poverty, heal broken communities, and give hope to the downtrodden. My guiding principle is simple: To serve humanity with humility and diligence.”

Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon Naanlong Daniel, highlighted the need for reconciliation and collective responsibility: “This appointment is an opportunity to rebuild trust and prove that Plateau’s strength lies in its unity.”
