A cleric with the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Rev. Budadi Taki, has described the incessant attacks in Plateau State as a total persecution of the Christian faithful in the state.
Rev. Taki, who serves as the Coordinator of the Prayer and Revival Unit at COCIN Headquarters, Jos, made the remark during the COCIN Prayer Revival Unit Jos Mega Crusade 2025, held recently at Zang Commercial Secondary School, Bukuru, in Jos South Local Government Area.
Taking his text from John 16:33, Rev. Taki declared: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
The week-long event had as its theme, ‘Christ, Hope of All Nations’.
Rev. Taki urged Christians to place their unwavering trust in their Creator, stressing that Christ remained the Prince of Peace.
He further noted that the importance of the crusade could not be overemphasised, as it was aimed at refreshing the hearts and minds of believers who gathered to receive God’s blessings and salvation.
He disclosed that the mega crusade featured a range of spiritual activities, including seminars for supervisors of the Regional Church Councils (RCCs), public preaching, praise and worship sessions and song ministrations by invited choirs and groups from various denominations.
Speaking to journalists, the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Rev. Gyang Chuwang, expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the entire COCIN family to all who participated in the Jos Mega Crusade.
“It is our sincere prayer that the spiritual growth and renewal of your experience will continue to manifest in your daily life,” he said.
Some worshippers who spoke to THE NIGERIA STANDARD expressed joy at the line-up of activities during the event, describing it as an uplifting experience that glorified the name of the Lord.
They also commended the organisers for their dedication, urging the COCIN to make the Jos Mega Crusade an annual event to further strengthen the faith and spiritual growth of Christians.
