Plateau State Deputy Governor, Ngo Josephine Piyo, has described the late Mrs Hwongchun Majak as an embodiment of compassion and selflessness throughout her life.

Speaking during a condolence visit to the family house in Kabong, Jos North Local Government Area, the deputy governor said she received the news of Mrs Majak’s death with deep shock, noting that she had known the deceased for many years.

Mrs Piyo described the late Mrs Majak as a strong political ally and a lover of people who always gave her best without expecting anything in return.

She urged the family to accept her passing as the will of God, adding that her death was not only a loss to her family but also to the people of Riyom LGA and Plateau State as a whole.

The deputy governor encouraged the children to emulate their late mother’s virtues of compassion and love for all.

Responding, the husband of the deceased, Mr Haruna Majak, expressed deep gratitude for the visit, saying the family was encouraged by the show of love and solidarity.

Mr Majak revealed that his late wife had battled a prolonged illness, and the family had planned to hold a thanksgiving ceremony in April next year following the improvement in her health.

Sadly, he said, she passed away before the appointed time.

“As mortals, we should be ready at all times since no one knows when death will come calling,” he said, adding that he was grateful to his children for standing by their mother until her last breath.
