The Plateau State House of Assembly has officially relocated its legislative activities back to the complex following the completion and commissioning of the renovated facility by Governor Caleb Mutfwang.
The decision was triggered by a motion moved by Hon Joseph Bukar, member representing Shendam State Constituency, during Tuesday’s plenary at the Old Government House, Rayfield, Jos.
Bukar stated that the newly renovated complex rendered it unnecessary to continue holding plenary sessions at the Old Government House.
“The completion and commissioning of the Assembly Complex by the Governor has provided a modern, secure, and conducive environment for our legislative business,” Bukar noted.
The motion received unanimous support from the legislators, who expressed satisfaction with the improved facilities and the enhanced environment for legislative work.
Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Naanlong Daniel, confirmed the resolution, appreciating the legislators’ support, patience and cooperation throughout the renovation period.
During the same plenary, a bill for the establishment of the Plateau State Institute for Advanced Legislative Leadership and Democratic Studies and for other related matters, was presented and passed its first reading.
