Residents of Angwan Mission, Tudun Wada in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State have expressed gratitude to Governor Caleb Mutfwang for the ongoing road construction in their community.
The project, which initially began in 2017 under the previous administration but was later abandoned, has now received renewed attention under the ‘Time Is Now’ government.
This has brought immense joy to residents.
In an interview with THE NIGERIA STANDARD, Mr. Manji Markus commended the governor’s efforts.
He said: “Kudos to Governor Caleb Mutfwang. I’m deeply impressed by this new development. In fact, it’s a good development to the community as we now have accessible roads, which used to look like a tall dream, and we can move without hindrance.”
Similarly, Mrs. Grace Mallo applauded the governor’s intervention.
She expressed joy, saying: “I thank the governor for making the presence of government felt. I’m very happy with the ongoing project because prior to this development, our vehicles could hardly move due to the poor condition of the road compared to now that it is undergoing construction.”
Kabiru Mohammed, a tricyclist, also praised Governor Mutfwang’s administration.
He expressed his gratitude for the reconstruction.
He added: “The construction is actually good since it leads to Kabong/Rukuba Road. Unlike before, we moved through Hill Station to get to Tudun Wada, which is quite a long distance from Rukuba Road, but thanks to the governor’s initiative, we can pass through Kabong to get to Tudun Wada with so much ease.”
Miss Sarah Adimili, another resident, shared her excitement.
She said: “I feel so excited, because this is not only good but a great development to Tudun Wada entirely. And it could actually open doors to more businesses since the roads are accessible and link to other parts of town.”
However, Markus, Mallo, Mohammed and Adimili appealed to the contractors to speed up the project.
They noted that the construction had hindered many businesses due to demolitions.
They also lamented that some landlords had taken advantage of the situation to increase rents for houses and shops.
They called on the government to caution landlords to approach such issues with a human face.
