Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has congratulated Mr. Ezekiel Gomos on his appointment as the pioneer Director-General of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF), following the Forum’s meeting held from December 1 – 2, 2025.

In a statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor, Gyang Bere, the governor described Mr. Gomos as a strategic thinker, renowned development economist, policy expert and seasoned business trainer whose outstanding career spanned public service, private-sector development, governance reform and human capital advancement.

He noted that Mr. Gomos’ decades of professional experience, shaped by impactful roles in institutions such as the New Nigeria Development Company (NNDC), the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), the Plateau Investment and Property Development Company and the Bank of Agriculture, had equipped him to contribute meaningfully to addressing the complex socio-economic challenges affecting Northern Nigeria.

The governor recalled Mr. Gomos’ exemplary service as Secretary to the Government of Plateau State, where he championed policy coordination, institutional strengthening and key public-sector reforms.

He also highlighted his visionary role in co-founding the Jos Business School (JBS) in 2005, now a reputable centre for entrepreneurship development, leadership training and policy dialogue.

According to Mutfwang, the appointment reflected the Forum’s renewed commitment to strengthening its secretariat and reinforcing a unified regional response to the evolving challenges in Northern Nigeria.

He said the creation of the Director-General’s office marked a strategic step toward deepening coordination, enhancing proactive governance and advancing regional stability and development.

He described the appointment as a major boost not only for the northern region but also for Plateau State, expressing confidence that Mr. Gomos would bring the strategic leadership, institutional capacity and technical expertise required to reposition the Forum as an effective platform for collective security efforts, economic competitiveness and sustainable development across the nineteen northern states.
