Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has paid a condolence visit to Bauchi State following the passing of renowned Islamic scholar and elder statesman, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
The governor was received at the Bauchi International Airport by the Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Mohammed Auwal Jatau.
The Deputy Governor represented the Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, during the visit.
At the residence of the late cleric, Governor Uba Sani described Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi as a towering figure in Islamic scholarship.
He said the late scholar’s teachings on peace, unity and moral discipline positively impacted generations across Nigeria and beyond.
The governor noted that the demise of the renowned cleric was not only a loss to Bauchi State, but to the entire Muslim Ummah and the nation at large.
Governor Sani conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the Bauchi State Government, the immediate family of the late Sheikh, the Tijjaniyya community and the people of Bauchi State.
He prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and give the family and followers the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Respoding, the Deputy Governor, Mohammed Auwal Jatau, expressed gratitude to Governor Sani for the condolence visit.
He described the visit as a clear demonstration of solidarity and brotherhood between the governments and people of Kaduna and Bauchi States.
The Deputy Governor said Governor Mohammed deeply appreciated the gesture and extended his gratitude to the Kaduna State Governor for sharing in the moment of grief.
He added that the late Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi dedicated his life to the propagation of Islam, peaceful coexistence and national unity.
According to him, the cleric left behind an enduring legacy that will continue to guide future generations.
The visit further underscored the strong ties between Bauchi and Kaduna states and the collective respect accorded to the late Islamic scholar for his lifelong service to humanity.
