Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State and Chairman of the Protocol Sub-Committee for the forthcoming People’s Democratic Party (PDP) elective convention has expressed confidence that the party is fully prepared for the convention slated for November 2025.

Speaking Monday during the inauguration of members of the Protocol Sub-Committee at the Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja, the governor reaffirmed the commitment of patriotic members to keeping the PDP strong, united and vibrant in Nigeria’s political landscape.

He underscored the critical role of the protocol team in ensuring the overall success of the convention and urged members to bring their experience, professionalism and dedication to bear for a seamless and well-coordinated exercise.

“Today’s meeting demonstrates that the PDP is very much alive, and we are taking the convention very seriously,” Mutfwang said.

“That is why we are approaching our assignment with every sense of responsibility. I have always maintained that the founding fathers of the PDP would not wish to see the party die in our time. We, therefore, have a sacred responsibility to keep this platform alive and strong for the people of Nigeria.”

He explained that the inauguration served as an opportunity for members to familiarise themselves with one another to foster teamwork and effective coordination ahead of the convention.

In his address, the Chairman of the Main Planning Committee and Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, commended Governor Mutfwang for his diligence and leadership, assuring him of the full support of the main committee.

Governor Fintiri pointed out that the PDP remained the most credible and people-oriented political platform in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa, stressing that the party must not be allowed to fade away.

He maintained that the PDP had played a pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s democracy and nurturing leaders across generations.

Fintiri pledged that every necessary effort would be made to sustain the PDP’s relevance as the credible alternative Nigerians can continue to trust.
