The Gindiri Old Students’ Association (GOSA) has paid a condolence visit to the Mannok family following the passing of Mr. Akila Mannok, husband of the longest-serving Principal of Girls’ High School, Gindiri.
The late Mr. Mannok, himself a GOSA member and former teacher at Boys’ Secondary School, Gindiri, was remembered for his service and dedication to education.
Leading the delegation, Arc. Samuel Jatau, President of GOSA and Secretary to the Government of Plateau State, reflected on the immense contributions of the Mannok family to generations of students who passed through Gindiri institutions.
He noted that the family remained dear to GOSA, as all its members were proud alumni of the association.
Arc. Jatau prayed for God’s comfort upon the bereaved family and assured them of the association’s continued prayers and support.
Responding, Mrs. Ma’u Mannok expressed deep gratitude to the GOSA President and the Executive Committee for identifying with the family during their time of grief.
She said she felt loved and encouraged by the visit, urging the GOSA leadership to uphold the virtues and values instilled in them during their days in Gindiri and to continue shining God’s light wherever they served.
Also speaking, the family’s first son, Mr. Andi Mannok, thanked GOSA for the visit and solidarity, describing it as a meaningful reminder of the strong bond built through the Gindiri experience.
The GOSA Legal Adviser, Barrister Jonathan Mawiyau, led the closing prayer for the family, encouraging believers to mourn not as those without hope, but as those who believe in the power of resurrection.
