The Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Ltd has announced the launch of Cohort 3.0 of its transformative accelerator programme for the 2025/2026 cycle, aimed at supporting startups using satellite technology to tackle real-world problems.

This was revealed in a press statement signed by Stephen Kwande, Acting Head of Corporate Affairs Department, and made available to THE NIGERIA STANDARD in Jos on Monday.

According to the statement, the NIGCOMSAT Accelerator Programme had become a cornerstone of Nigeria’s space-tech innovation ecosystem, supporting early-stage startups across the country with mentorship, technical guidance and strategic exposure.

“The NIGCOMSAT Accelerator Programme is more than a launchpad; it is a national mission to unlock the potential of space technology in solving Nigeria’s most pressing problems. We are looking for bold thinkers and builders who are ready to innovate with purpose,” said Mrs Maureen Nzekwe, coordinator of the programme.

The initiative empowers entrepreneurs developing space-based solutions in agriculture, education, finance, health and national security.

The statement noted that the programme had already made a significant impact on Nigeria’s startup landscape, with many participants securing funding, scaling their innovations and gaining international recognition.

One notable success story, according to the statement, was Innovia Lab, a Deep Tech R&D, Prototype & Venture Studio co-founded by Durojaiye Philips, which had continued to make strides in applying AI and satellite technologies to address issues such as insurgency and terrorism.

Another standout participant, Dynalimb Technologies, was set to showcase its innovations at GITEX GLOBAL, the world’s largest tech and startup show in Dubai.

The statement noted that, as NIGCOMSAT unveils Cohort 3.0, the agency invited startups, mentors and facilitators with space-tech ambitions to apply.

It added that, while mentorship was voluntary, mentors and facilitators would receive official recognition and visibility across NIGCOMSAT platforms, events and publications.

Applications opened Tuesday, November 4, 2025, to close Friday, January 10, 2026.

The Evaluation Period would run from January 12–23, 2026, followed by the Selection Phase from January 24–30, 2026, with the programme launch scheduled for Thursday, February 27, 2026.

Interested applicants were advised to apply via the official portal: https://nig.comsat.gov.ngaccelerator.com.

The statement explained that, as Nigeria continues to position itself as a leader in space-enabled innovation, the NIGCOMSAT Accelerator Programme remained a beacon for startups committed to building the nation’s technological future, one satellite-powered solution at a time
