Lasuerta Foundation recently concluded a massive clothing drive that saw over one thousand children in Jos, Plateau State, receive gifts of clothing.
The event, held at Tudun Wada community in Jos, was organised by the CEO of Lasuerta Foundation, Mrs Ann Enebe of Abuja.
Speaking at the event on behalf of the CEO, Mrs Afniki Daduut said the drive was part of Lasuerta’s broader effort to empower vulnerable children across Nigeria, particularly by supporting youth with material aid.
She further stated, “Lasuerta Foundation plans to clothe one thousand children today with its ‘Transform Waste Fabric’ initiative, turning waste fabric into sustainable fashion products.”
“Lasuerta Foundation has been active in Abuja, but today we have come to Jos in the spirit of Christmas to show love to the less privileged in our society. This gesture is extended to both Christians and Muslims to foster unity and love in the community,” she added.
Some staffers, including Miss Grace Jones and Miss Blessing Kayi, explained that the foundation aimed to convert waste fabrics into sustainable fashion products such as shoes, bags, and clothing, helping to boost the fashion industry.
Lasuerta had produced beautiful dresses for distribution to the less privileged during the Christmas season, with plans to extend the programme to other states.
Parents at the event expressed gratitude to the foundation for the initiative, praying that it continued to impact the lives of underprivileged children while promoting unity.
The event was attended by both Muslim and Christian community members.
The highlight was the presentation of gifts and fashion-designed dresses to the delighted children, who were further entertained with musical performances.
