Agai emerges councilor Gwande/Karfa Ward

Hon. Fidelis Agai of APC was declared winner of the Councillorship election that took place on October 9, 2021 to represent Gwande/Karfa Ward in Bokkos Local Government Council of Plateau State.

While monitoring the election, Hon. Fidelis Agai Aka C.Y. after being declared winner said in an interview that the election was easy for him to win  ascouncillor representing Gwande/Karfa Ward because of the issue that the opposition party had with PLASIEC which made the PDP not to participate in the election.

The elected councilor further said that in an election there must be a winner and a loser.

He said his situation was strange because his competitor, who contested under the PDP, is his elder brother, Hon. Natty Agai.

The councillor also said this is a huge blessing to their family because if he was the loser his elder brother Hon. Natty Agai will be the winner, and then appreciated the people of Gwande/Karfa Ward for electing him as councilor.

Hon. C. Y. stated that he will always remember the citizens of the community, and urged the youths to co-operate and indulge in their future desires especially academically.

He said he will do everything within his power to fulfill his campaign promises, and promised to provide development in the community.

The councillor then encouraged the youths to venture into handwork, education and acquire skills adding that he is always ready and willing to help those that are ready to succeed.

The youth Chairman of karfa community Mr. BitrusAshi, appreciated the youths and the entire people of Gwande/Karfa ward for coming out en mass and electing their representative free and fair.

He pleaded with the newly elected councillor to remember the entire people of Gwande/Karfa Ward by fulfilling his campaign promises.

The village head also stated that the entire community love the services of Hon. Fidelis Agai adding that the  electedCouncillor is helpful especially to ophans, widows and other people that hardly eat.

SafKarfa narrated that Fidelis Agai has become the eye of the people and a pillar in some people’s lives in the community, the village head concluded that Fidelis Agai deserves more than councilor.

Hon. Natty Agai, the PDP candidate competing with his younger brother Hon. Fidelis Agai, stated that he is happy although he lost the position as councillor but he is happy because his younger brother won the election, adding also that it is for their  benefit.
