APC appreciates delegates, others

PLATEAU State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has commended delegates over the peaceful and successful primary election for the Jos North/Bassa Federal House of Representatives and Pankshin South State Constituency ahead of the 26th February bye- election.

This was contained in a  statement signed by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Sylvanus Namang, and made available to THE NIGERIA STANDARD in Jos, following peaceful a and successful primary election.

State Chairman of the APC, Hon. Rufus Bature applauded the patience and resilience off delegates and all stakeholders as well as call to duty of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, security agents and the press during the period of the primary and rerun elections from 1st to 4th February.

He commended the eight aspirants who participated in the primary election for the Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency and three for the Pankshin South State Constituency for their maturity and patriotic disposition describing it as a family contest and there was no victor and no vanquished.

Bature admonished the winners to extend an olive branch to those who loss so that the party would seamlessly forge ahead for the bye- election and be poised to win and retain the two seats.

In his remarks, “All the contestants are eminently qualified but in such contest, only one person would emerge”.

He expressed joy that after the tie which led to the rerun primary election for the Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency and that of Pankshin South State Constituency, nay sayers were disappointed as a repeat of the exercise in Jebu Bassa ended without rancour given the level playing field provided by the party.

Hon. Rufus Bature said, the party has commenced work in earnest for the February 26 bye election for Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency and the Pankshin State House of Assembly Constituency.

He charged the affected constituencies to work vigorously to ensure victory as a mark of honour for the deceased occupants of the seats who lost their lives while serving their constituents and the party the Chairman also thanked Plateau people for their continuous support in embracing the APC and called on them to continue to give Governor Simon Lalong the desired support to deliver more dividends of democracy to the entire people of the state.
