The Bwacha Gubernatorial Campaign Council (BGCC) has disclosed that Senator Emmanuel Bwacha’s name has been added to the INEC portal and so he remains the governorship candidate of the APC in Taraba.

There has been uncertainty in the state over the status of the governorship candidate with the public holding divergent views over the issue. Some say his name has been uploaded into the INEC portal while others deny it.

However, in a statement signed by spokesman of the Bwacha Gubernatorial Campaign Council, Aaron Artimas, the party had successfully conducted its rerun primaries and “INEC had accepted and uploaded” Bwacha’s name.

“It has become highly important to reassure all members of the APC and teeming supporters that distinguished Senator Emmanuel Bwacha CON remains the authentic and undisputed gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Taraba State. His name has been added to the INEC portal as Taraba’s APC governorship candidate in Taraba State.

“In view of this, we are not only reassuring our supporters on this wonderful development but also advising them to ignore any rumours, speculations, and outright lies to the contrary.

“It is imperative to stress that recently, INEC had issued a statement, saying that its duties are to respect and implement court orders and not to interpret them.

“The APC had successfully organized its re-run Gubernatorial Primary in the state, duly supervised by the state INEC commissioner and his staff on the directives of the National Commission. Following this development, the National Working Committee of the party had written and submitted Senator Bwacha’s name to the commission. The name has been accepted and uploaded to the INEC portal,” the statement read.

Artimas thereby assured party members and supporters that the party will start its state-wide campaign in a few days towards installing an APC regime in the state.

He also appealed to all “to discount such wild rumours and deliberate falsehood against the APC and its highly respected gubernatorial candidate”.
