Cholera kills 20 in Numan

TWENTY lives are said to have been lost as a result of a Cholera outbreak in Ngbalang Village of Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Reports has it that sixteen others have been hospitalized at the Numan General Hospital where they are receiving treatment.

A Youth leader in the area Malam Umar Sadam disclosed in a chat that in the last few days twenty lives were lost and sixteen others have been hospitalized at the Numan General Hospital with some of them receiving attention at the Ngbalang dispensary.

Sadam called for urgent adequate medical attention in the area.

According to him Health officials at Numan are yet to adequately respond to their plea.

Butconfirming the incident, Director incharge at the Ministry of Health Dr. Celine Laori disclosed that the figures were a total of victims in the Local Government Area.

While saying that records available to them showed fifteen cases and one dead while the Ministry has accorded the communities in the area good source of water and equally embarked upon hygiene awareness.

Cealine added that some NGOs with speciality in health have been engaged to tackle the situation in the area.

She noted that the NGOs have been urged to tackle the situation.
