The attention of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) has been drawn to a malicious publication tagged “COCIN endorsed Dr. Nentawe”, purported to have been issued by the COCIN Executive Council and COCIN Board of Trustees.

This was contained in a statement signed by Rev. Assoc. Prof. Benjamin J. Pokol, COCIN General Secretary.

The statement reads in part: “We wish to state categorically that: COCIN has come a long way as an evangelical denomination with a respected pedigree that cannot be easily dragged into the mud of breath-taking politics of divide and rule just as a means of scoring cheap political points.

“COCIN wishes to state that she has almost 100% of the current political flag bearers on the Plateau as her members, so only an enemy of COCIN and this privilege, would have sat down, out of sheer death-dealing jealousy, to fabricate this baseless publication to make COCIN ready for the kill.

“Even common sense would not allow the leadership of COCIN to think of this divisive position, let alone publishing a position that is nothing but shooting herself in the leg.

“This baseless and unfounded publication, no doubt, is coming from someone who is totally against COCIN as a denomination on the Plateau and wishes her dead.

“In view of the above, the COCIN Leadership and her respected Incorporated Trustees, wish to condemn in totality, debunk and dissociate herself from this life-denying and peace-denying publication that has potential to pitch her against her progressive political sons and daughters.

“Our teeming members are free to go out and vote whoever they want to vote.

“May we have a free, fair and credible election”.
