THE Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development Hajia Fatima Kabir Buba has again met with critical stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress, in a bid for her principal Alhaji Yahaya Bello to get the presidential ticket of the party.
Buba, who met with APC stakeholders from Egan ward under Lokoja Local Government Area recently, said the essence of the meeting is to broker peace among aggrieved party members and to ensure that they support the developmental drive under the leadership of Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Governor of Kogi State.
The Commissioner noted that Governor Bello has led the state with transparency, accountability and fairness, adding that such dynamic style of leadership should be replicated in the ward and Local Government as he remains a leader who promotes peace and unity.
According to Buba, the meeting would avail party members the opportunity to their minds on burning issues and develop a road map that would guarantee Gov. Bello’s presidential ambition.
She however, lauded new members that recently defected from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) to the APC family’s , describing it as a welcome development that will further boost the party victory in the forthcoming polls.
Buba however fumed on some skeletal issues ravaging the party at the ward insisting that a divided house will not stand but collapse.
Speaking on the last ward congress, Buba said in as much as some excos were dropped, that does not mean the party will neglect them just apologize for any inconvenience such decisions must have caused.
“Am begging each one of you to give peace a chance. Is not that when you are an exco that is when you will benefit. No. No. No. You can be a member and still benefit. Am using this medium to apologize for any inconvenience, forgive one another for our party to move forward.
The Commissioner admonished the APC ward leaders to carry members of the party along in each of it policies, adding, there is need for the executive to work with members in harmony towards achieving the goals of the party.
Egan ward critical stakeholders from APC under Lokoja Local Government all appreciated Governor Bello for choosing one of their own as a Commissioner praying that, his desire to lead this nation will come to pass.
They all passed a vote on confidence on Governor Yahaya Bello and endorsed his presidential ambition.
