THE late Dr James Datok, running mate to Senator, Jeremiah Usein, the Peoples Democratic Party, and Gubernatorial Candidate in the 2019 general election in Plateau State has been described as a good politician whose short stint has made a mark in the political landscape of the state.

Plateau State Deputy Governor, Professor Sonni Tyoden stated this when he paid a condolence visit to the deceased family at Gura Topp, Jos South Local Government Area of the state.

Tyoden who was accompanied by some politicians from Mangu LGA and aides, said the late Dr Datok was one of them as a politician and noted that one thing people should learn about death was that it unites them irrespective of political, tribal and religious inclination.

He said his death came at a time when all hands should be on deck to salvage the polity and encouraged the family to take solace in the fact that the deceased was a man of peace and no one should question the will of God.

While praying for the repose of his soul, the Deputy Governor also prayed God to comfort the bereaved family.

Responding on behalf of the family, Professor Joel Barde said they were encouraged by the visit and that they have accepted the death in good faith noting that there was a time to be born and a time to die.

He said all they could do was to pray for the deceased noting that they have tried to save his life but it was his time to go.

The late Dr James Datok who died on 28th October, 2021following a protracted illness, will be buried on Friday in his home town, Mangun in Mangun District of Mangu LGA of Plateau State.
