Federal Polytechnic Bida

Federal Polytechnic Bida has taken another step to bring about more degree programs on board particularly from new universities in the country after its successful running of degree programs in affiliation with reputable universities like Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna.

 The Rector, Dr. Abubakar Abdul Dzukogi played host to delegation of officials from Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai who were in Bida Poly for resource inspection of degree programs.

The three management courses for the Programme according to to him, include Business Administration, Public Administration, Mass Communication and Accounting.

Dr. Dzukogi who commended the resource inspection team, further assured his administration commitment in leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the affiliated programs is successful.

He described the opportunity as a good one “since it will bring University education closer to people and equally help in capacity building for staff and non staff who are desirous of degree certificates.” 

According to him, “So far, we have received commendation from different stakeholders for introducing degree programs here since 2018. We started with Engineering and  Environmental Sciences, especially in affiliation with the Federal University of Technology, Minna, and today we are talking about new programs with IBB University. It actually shows that we are on good course.

“At this juncture, permit me to say that as soon as we get your approval and that of the National University Commission (NUC) to run the degree in management studies, we shall maintain standards and ensure that there is value for certificates to be issued.” he stated.

Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics, IBB University, Lapai, Professor Aliyu Mohammed Paiko, who led others into a meeting with the Rector during the resource inspection,  expressed satisfaction with the human and material resources available in the polytechnic, especially the multi-million naira equipment found in Mass Communication studios.

“We have a lot of consideration for quality and we value the certificates issued by our university. We have gone round the departments and the school library and found interesting and standard materials suitable for the degree programs. So, by God’s grace, it is our hope that we won’t have problems approving degree programs for Bidapoly at our level, “
