First Lady identifies with New Year babies

Wife of the Plateau State Governor, Barr. Helen Mutfwang, has identified herself with the families of the New Year babies.

The first lady made this known when she visited the New Year babies at the Plateau Specialist Hospital Jos, on New Year day.

Barr Mrs Mutfwang congratulated all the families of the New Year babies. She described the babies as gift from God on this special day.

She prayed that God would give parents of the babies, the grace or wisdom to nurture them in his way.

The First Lady also used the visit to extend a hand of love to the parents of the New Year babies by presenting some gifts and cash to them.

She called on Plateau citizens to seek for more of God’s blessings in the new year. She said that by God’s grace 2024 would put an end to most of the challenges faced in the state.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Plateau State, Hon. Caroline Dafur who accompanied the First Lady to the Specialist Hospital also represented the First Lady as she proceeded to deliver gifts and cash to New Year babies at JUTH, OLA Hospital, Jos, PHC Dadin- Kowa and OLA Hospital Zawan in Jos South LGA.

Chief Medical Director (CMD) Plateau Specialist Hospital, Jos, Prof. Christopher Yilgwan appreciated the First Lady for her motherly love and described the visit to the hospital as a very significant one, urging her to sustain such a gesture.

Also speaking, parents of the New Year babies all expressed happiness and thanked the First Lady for her show of love to them, particularly for taking her time to come and see for herself the new year babies in the hospital.

Our correspondent reports that the first new baby at the Specialist Hospital was delivered at about 3:20am of the 2024 New Year day.
