Football association passes vote of no confidence on chairman

The Executive Board of Plateau State Football Association has passed a vote of no confidence on its present chairman, Hon Sunday Samson Longbap for trying to manipulate the forthcoming election, which is slated for 8th June this year.
They made this declaration while briefing sports journalists in Jos recently. It was gathered that the chairman has produced and circulated ambiguous election guidelines to be used in the forthcoming election which was not tabled for deliberation to the board as stipulated in article 30(4) of the PFA status 2014, which states that, the State Executive Committee shall draw a guideline for election or bye law.
The six Executive Board Members, out of eight who signed the document further accused the chairman of changing the names of delegates.
“The lists of delegates for the forthcoming election congress was adopted at the last AGM held on the 19th May, 2023. It was alleged that after the meeting, Hon Sunday Samson Longbap smuggled in and changed the names and sent the lists to Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)”.
” Also, the composition of the Electoral Committee (ELCOM) is faulty as its secretary, Larry Gowon is a delegate to the said election as the secretary of Women League.
The chairman also misused the Governor’s Cup funds”, it was revealed.
The board members who signed the petition include, Ezra Simon Godid, first Vice Chairman of the board, Peter Lenge Ret, board member, John Maren Mafwalal, board member, Habu Pakwai Patrick, board member, Alhaji Salihu Mohammed, board member and Choji Emmanuel Gyang who is also a board member.
