Foundation partners French Embassy to support youth

FAME Foundation, a Nigerian NGO, has announced a partnership with the French Embassy in Nigeria in preparation for the Olympic/Paralympics Games in 2024.

The partnership, known as the Play it Dream it Initiative, aims to promote the inclusion of young and vulnerable people through sports and provide them with valuable life skills.

The agreement was signed by Inyene Idiong, Communications Officer, Fame Foundation as part of Fame Foundation’s commitment to creating more opportunities for youth. The projects under this partnership include the National BreakDance Championship in five Nigerian states, a para soccer competition, a para weightlifting competition, and workshops on girl-child education and menstrual health hygiene.

The aim is to empower youths, athletes, and promote crucial social causes. The French Embassy in Nigeria is committed to uniting young people around the values of the 2024 Paris Olympics and demonstrating the power of sports to bring about change. The projects are financed by the Solidarity Fund for Innovative Projects of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.

The statement quoted that “Fame Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to empower women and girls. And also, with these projects, we aim to encourage athletes, promote social inclusion, and contribute to a brighter future for Nigerians.

It aims to support initiatives in the areas of democratic governance, culture, French, higher education, and research”
