GOC convenes security meeting in Mangu

Members representing Mangu North East and Mangu South state constituency PLSHA, Hon. Sani Shilak (Golden) and Hon. Bala Fwangje Chief Whip of the 10th Assembly attended a stakeholders’ security meeting at the MYM Centre Tam at the instance of the new General Officer Commanding 3rd Armoured Div. General AE Abdulsalam.

This was revealed in a statement issued to journalist in Jos by Luka Toholde. According to him, the GOC on assumption of duty recently, moved the base of Operation Safe Haven to Mangu in order to bring an end to increased attacks and rising tension that has engulfed the area for about three months.

During the meeting, all attendees agreed to bring the security challenge to an end in order to restore back the peace the LGA was known for.

The GOC charged the stakeholders to welcome him with a special gift by ensuring that no security breach, in whatever form, is recorded again from then on.

The statement said, while expressing his feelings about the outcome of the meeting, Hon. Sani (Golden) expressed optimism that with the sincerity of purpose and genuine signs exhibited by those who spoke, he could see the security challenge coming to an end very soon.

The meeting was coordinated by the Transition Committee Chairman, Mangu LGA, Mr. Markus Artu. Other stakeholders who were in attendance include leaders of MDA, Miyetti Allah, CAN JNI, heads of security agencies in the LGA and traditional rulers.
