THE newly appointed General Manager of the Plateau Publishing Corporation, Dr. Boniface Gwotbit has inaugurated a 7-man committee that will proffer solutions as well as a vision that will help bring back the Corporation’s past glory.
While inaugurating the committee in his office yesterday, the General Manager emphasized that the members of the committee were carefully selected because of their track records which enabled the management to have confidence in them, promising that all the necessary support will be accorded to them in order to succeed. He revealed that the government has mandated them to submit their proposal for the smooth take off of the Corporation and urged them to ensure that they meet the time frame given to them.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, Director of Administration, Mr. Salisu Gayam, who is the serve as the chairman, expressed happiness with the management of the Corporation of finding them worthy to serve in that capacity, assuring that they would tirelessly to achieve the set goals within the time limit.
He opined that the task is a collective responsibility between the committee and the management stressing that with their support the target of revamping the newspaper will be accomplish.
Members of the committee include, the Director of Administration, Mr. Salisu Gayam, who serves as chairman, Director of production Mr. Dickson Chollom, Editor of THE NIGERIA STANDARD, Mr. Katdapba Gobum, SUNDAY STANDARD Editor, Mr. Paul Jatau, are to serve as members.
Other members of the committee are Advert Manager, Pauline Damap, Unions Representative and the Management Secretary, Agwo Emmanuel will serve as the secretary of the committee.
Also, the committee were given five terms of reference, which included to draw short term vision for the corporation which will serve as a guide for the reinvention of the newspaper, to take a critical look at the subsidiaries of the corporation and suggest workable ways of commercializing their operations.
Others terms of reference is to re-examine the corporations’ website and recommend ways for improvement, as well as the internet and online publications, to make any other recommendations deems fit for the smooth operation of the corporation.
