Inuwa holds  gala for cabinet, security heads

AS part of activities marking Nigeria’s 62nd Independence anniversary and Gombe State at 26, Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya hosted heads of security agencies, business community and senior government officials to an anniversary gala.

In his remark during the occasion,  Governor Yahaya reaffirmed of his conviction that despite passing through thick and thin in its over six decades journey, Nigeria has attained greatness in many facets of human endeavours and that the citizens have every reason to celebrate this auspicious moment.

He also expressed his belief that Gombe State, after 26 years of existence as a full fledged entity, today outshines many of its peers created together in October 1996.

He attributed the current Gombe State developmental status to the commitment of all the past and present crop of leaders who served in both military and democratic positions.

He said, “Without commitment and resilience of some notable citizens who played key roles in their respective capacities to ensure Gombe attained statehood status we wouldn’t be opportuned today to serve you as Governors; that is why we will consistently be praying for them for Allah to reward them for such sacrifice”.

Gombe State Commissioner of Police, Ishola Babaita, who spoke on behalf of Heads of Security Agencies, commended the Governor for showing patriotism by organizing the anniversary gala to mark both events.

He also commended the Governor for his commitment to peace and security in Gombe State and for his constant support to the security agencies to facilitate their smooth operations in the state.

Present at the event which was held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, were the Deputy Governor, Dr.Manassah Daniel Jatau, Speaker of Gombe State House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo and Chief Judge of Gombe State, Hon.  Justice Joseph Awak.

Other dignitaries included the Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff, Head of Service, Commissioners and Special Advisers as well All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders and members of Gombe business community among others.

The event kicked off with the cutting of the anniversary cake made, followed by the entertainment with several cultural groups performing to the delight of the audience.
