Knights of Saint Mulumba (KSM) Nigeria, St. Moses Catholic Church Sub Council Tudun-Wada Jos, Plateau state has described the appointment of one of their colleague, Dr. Boniface Gwotbit as General Manager Plateau Publishing Corporation (PPC), as God’s plan and time, considering his long years of commitment and dedication to work.

Grand Knight (GK) St. Moses Sub Council Sir, Clement Bankat who led the delegation stated this on a courtesy visit to the new PPC General Manager in his office, held at the Corporation’s Newsroom in Jos, last Wednesday, said the appointment was well deserved.

The Knights thanked Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State for finding Dr. Gwotbit worthy to serve in the capacity of the General Manager to pilot the affairs of the PPC Publishers of the Nigeria Standard and Sunday Standard.

They encouraged the new general manager to build on the vision that led to the establishment of the newspaper among other subsidiaries in the state by the  Late Joseph Deshi Gomwalk of blessed memory whose vision was to protect the Middle Belt and beyond.

Sir Bankat advised the general manager to cooperate with the management and staff of the corporation, so as to change the fortunes of the organization, adding that “what one hand cannot carry needs the other hand.”

In his remarks, the Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Mathew Sukatda, told the general manager that as a church, they would continue praying for him so that God would give him the grace and enablement to transform the organization for better service delivery.

Fr. Sukatda while praying for the general manager in his office asked God to protect and guide him throughout the period he was going to stay in office and urged him to always look up to God in all the plans that he might have geared towards moving the corporation forward.

Responding, PPC General Manager, Dr. Boniface Gwotbit expressed happiness and thanked the Knights for finding time to come and felicitate with him on his appointment as PPC general manager.

Dr. Gwotbit described the solidarity shown to him by the Knights as a show of love and assured them of his readiness to move the corporation to greater heights.

He said that the Nigeria Standard is amongst a few government owned newspaper across the country that is still alive, adding that with the recent test running on the new City Line Express Machine, they are optimistic that the time of regaining the lost glory of the newspaper has come for it to resume daily productions soon.

Dr. Gwotbit also told the Knights that the corporation had since resumed it Cactus exercise books production on the corporation’s Bilomatic Machine some few years ago, saying that hope is also not lost on the renovation of J.D Gomwalk House, which is now empty without tenants since 2014.
