Kogi Executive Council Approves Another university
Kogi State Executive Council has approved the establishment of another State University in Okun Land, located in the West Senatorial District of the state.
The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Yahaya Bello, Onogwu Mohammed who briefed journalists on the outcome of the meeting, said that the establishment of the university would alleviate the admission challenges faced by the youth of Okunland and the state in general, who struggle to gain admission into the limited number of catchment area universities in Nigeria.
Onogwu told newsmen that the State Executive Council also approved the procurement of three modern, advanced fire-fighting trucks for Kogi State Fire Agency.
This approval according to him, is aimed at enhancing the capacity of the Kogi State Fire Agency, enabling it to effectively and promptly respond to distress calls regarding fire outbreaks from institutions and the general public.
He said that the council received reports on various ongoing projects across the state, including the construction of internal roads at the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, Zone 8 roundabout-Crusher Road, Itakpe-Okene road, and others and memos to ratify previously approved projects were also considered.
