Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole has congratulated Senator Smart Adeyemi who is representing Kogi West Senatorial District over his victory at the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
The Speaker through his Chief Press Secretary, Femi Olugbemi said it was heartwarming to receive the cheering news of the well deserved victory, stressing that the petition against Senater Adeyemi was unsubstantiated and lacked merit.
He said the dismissal of the case was long envisaged as many of the points canvassed by the petitioner was based on hearsay, stressing that the tribunal has done justice to the case.
He further said that the victory wouldn’t have come at a better time than now with the rigorous campaigns that earned the majority votes of the electorates across the 7 Local Government Areas in the senatorial district.
He urged Senator Smart Adeyemi to see his victory as an opportunity to do more in moving the zone to the next level of development, noting that the election held on the 16th and 30th November, 2019 was squarely won by the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Senator Smart Adeyemi.
