Lalong commissions more projects in Southern zone

Plateau State Governor has continued with the commissioning of more projects executed by his administration at the Southern Zone of the state.

The governor in a two-day working tour, performed the commissioning of the projects cited across local governments.

Day one, on Wednesday 24th May 2023, the Governor commissioned the 200-bed capacity Mabudi General Hospital, which has a Dental unit at Langtang South Local Government.

He said his government inherited the project at foundation level from his predecessor, adding that it has been completed and furnished with state-of-the-art facilities to address the healthcare needs of the people.

He also commissioned the township road network, Nyak Ajikamai, Shendam Local Government which has 9 completed road networks.

Also commissioned was one of the completed Legacy Projects of the Governor, Model Primary School Yelwa, Shendam.

He inspected the bridge linking Ajikamai in Shendam and Gangnum in Langtang South and four other roads in Ajikamai under construction.

On the second day of his tour, Thursday May 26, 2023, the governor continued with projects commissioning in Southern Plateau across five local governments.

He began his day by commissioning the Kalong bridge, longest bridge in Plateau State about 150m long 15 span Kalong-Angwan Dadi with twin bridges and many box culverts.

He later inaugurated the FRSC Training School, Shendam; market stalls and motor park; Shendam bye-pass internal road and bridges; Longvel-Yelwa-Mato Road; electricity transformer and standby generator at the; office blocks at Langtang North LGA.

Others were the new Local Government Council Secretariat Dengi and Jamb Centre, Kanam LGA; Primary Healthcare Referral Centre Amper; ICT Centre Kwal; PHC Referral Centre Kwall among others.

Governor Lalong said he was delighted that many of the projects initiated by his administration and those abandoned from previous administrations have been completed and delivered before he leaves office.

“These commissioning clearly shows what our administration has done in the last 8 years in a bid to fulfill its social contract with the people”.

“We believe in spreading our projects and not concentrating in one area because no part of the state is more important than another”.

“Many can testify that politics has not influenced our citing of projects. Where our party did not get votes have projects”, Governor Lalong said.

He also commended Local Government Chairmen who have also executed projects that are laudable and very useful to the people.

The Chairmen of Shendam, Langtang North, Kanke and Pankshin all appreciated the governor for spreading projects across the state and not concentrating in one area. This, they say speaks about his commitment to equity, justice and fairness.
