Plateau Governor, Simon Bako Lalong has on Thursday led a delegation to condole the family of former Plateau Military Administrator, (MILAD) Late Air Commodore Dan Suleiman.

Among the delegation that accompanied the governor on the visit, to the residence of the deceased at Wuse 2 Abuja were Deputy Speaker House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, Senator Nora Daduut, Executive Secretary Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria, Prof. Garba Sharubutu and other key stakeholders.

Lalong expressed shock over the death of the former MILAD and said he will greatly miss his fatherly support and advice.

“This death affects Plateau because he was our former Governor and leader before he died”.

“We are all standing here on behalf of the good people of Plateau State to send our condolence to you his family and pray that God will comfort you over this great loss”.

Lalong said as a former governor of the state, the Late Dan Suleiman will be given a state burial as a mark of honour and described him as a true leader because despite their political differences, he would always call to let him know when he was coming into Plateau State.

“He was a father that always gave me advice during my times of travails, and I will greatly miss that role, which he played in my life”.

Lalong expressed regrets he was already planning the celebration of Plateau Day of forgiveness and reconciliation on February 7th, 2023, in a grand style where past governors, including the deceased will be one of the recipients of an award when he sadly got a phone call to intimate him about the sad news of his demise.

“But God knows best, I will be part of the burial and there to pay my last respect and accompany the body of my late father to his final resting place”, Lalong said.

He informed the family that a condolence register had been opened in Abuja and in Jos, as a mark of respect.

Responding, spokesperson for the family, Jim Dan Suleiman appreciated the Governor and his delegation for the prompt visit of condolence.

“We are not surprised; we know how highly you held our father when he was alive”. We will keep you informed of all the burial plans and arrangement, and we thank God for the way God has been using you to be a blessing to many people”, said Suleiman.

Member representing Plateau Southern Senatorial Zone, Senator Nora Daduut offered prayers for the family.
