GOVERNOR Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has expressed his commitment to work with the church to reconcile the citizens towards rekindling the long existing cohesion that Plateau people are known for.
He gave this assurance recently while delivering a keynote address on the occasion of the 50th birthday anniversary of the Overseer of Global Flame Ministry, International, Apostle Danjuma Musa Gaksu, held in Jos, the state capital.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Jeremiah Satmak, the governor described the celebrant as an exceptional man of God who had positive dreams for Plateau State and Nigeria at large.
He said that although they faced many challenges when they came on board, the prayers of men of God like Gaksu enabled them to surmount some of their challenges.
“We will continue to rely on the Church for the reconciliation of our people. Challenges were much when we came in, but as soon as the chips are down, you will understand that we are genuine people that came with the mind to change Plateau State.
“We believe that the Church will play a pivotal role in this administration. That is why we are engaging the Church. We believe that this Plateau, ‘the Home of Peace and Tourism’, need the Church to play a vital role in uniting people,” the governor asserted.
The Plateau State Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Pastor Dunka Gomwalk, has said that the celebration was that of the fruits of stewardship.
Responding, Apostle Danjuma Musa Gaksu, thanked God for seeing him through in this challenging world and thanked Apostle Emmanuel Nuhu Kure for always being by his side at all times.
