The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), as part of its ongoing operations against terrorists in the Northeast, conducted a successful air strike on a gun truck carrying approximately 8 terrorists in Baranga Village, Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.

The operation took place earlier in the week under Operation Hakin Kai.

During an armed reconnaissance mission, NAF aircraft spotted 2 armed terrorists on a motorcycle along an active track. Tracking them, the aircraft discovered the terrorists taking cover under dense vegetation. As the aircraft engaged the vegetation, a gun truck carrying 8 terrorists suddenly emerged and attempted to escape the attack.

However, the NAF engaged and destroyed the gun truck, effectively eliminating the terrorists.

The remnants of terrorists in the Northeast continue to utilise thick forests and vegetation to avoid detection by the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies. This successful strike reaffirms the commitment of the AFN in preventing terrorists from freely attacking law-abiding Nigerians.
