Nasarawa NUJ commends Sule for appointing journalists into key positions

Nasarawa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for appointing practicing journalists into key positions in his administration and promised to support his administration to succeed.
In a communique at the end of it’s monthly meeting held at the Union’s Secretariat along  Makurdi road Lafia , members of the union also commended the conduct of members from all chapels, before, during and after the July 2 election that brought in the new officials of the council.
The congress also praised the new leadership of the state council for de-registering the defunct Progressive Chapel and advised members of the defunct chapel to join the Correspondents’ Chapel.
The Congress also urged leadership of the seven chapels to ensure regular payment of their check off dues for the smooth operation of the Union.
The Congress expressed worried over the increasing rate of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state and urged members as well as the public to adhere to the protocols outline by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The Communique which was jointly sign by the state chairman Malam Salihu Mohammed and secretary Mr Sunday John also noted with displeasure the increasing rate of rape and other insecurity in the state and called on the relevant security agencies to be proactive towards tackling the menace.
