NUPSRAW gets new Executive Council

THE Plateau State Chapter of Nigeria Union of Public Service Reportorial, Secretarial, Data Processors and Allied Workers (NUPSRAW), has elected new officials to run its affairs for the next four years.

At the end of the exercise, Comrade Nelly James Amamma emerged as Chairman with  Comrade Nansel Danjuma as the Vice Chairman.

Others officers include: Comrade Matawal Joshua, Assistant Secretary, Comrade Cecilia Kumdiyel, Financial Secretary, while the positions of Treasurer and Auditor went to Comrade Mandir Goselle and Comrade Kaneng Dung Pam, respectively, while Comrade Roseline Kim Pam emerged Chairperson of the Women Committee.

Out of the seven available positions, five females emerged with two males. Also, out of the seven positions, five were elected unopposed. The posts of Financial Secretary and Assistant Secretary were the only two keenly contested positions and we’re duly elected by the 63 delegates.

Announcing the results of the election, the Returning officer, Comrade Abdulsalam M. Dala, who is also the Deputy National President of NUPSRAW, congratulated the newly elected officials of the union and called on all members to give them the needed support to help move the Union, NUPARAW forward.

Earlier, while declaring the ninth Quadrennial State Delegates Conference opened, the Plateau State Head of Civil Service, Engr. Sunday Hyat, who was represented by the State Director of Labour, Mr. Michael Lamu, said the essence of unionism is to empower members and maintained that that is why government is committed to their welfare.

In an acceptance speech after taking her Oath of office, the newly sworn in State Chairman of NUPSRAW, Comrade Nelly James Amamma, thanked members for believing in them and promised to operate an open-door policy where all will contribute their ideas for them to achieve NUPSRAW’s dreams.

According to the Chairman, “we appeal that Secretariat Cadre be highly considered during employment to promote efficient service delivery at the work place. This will further strengthen the Union and help sustain peaceful industrial harmony”.
