Osinbajo to inaugurate Kogi Fashion Shared Facility




Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, is to inaugurate the state-of-the-art Fashion Shared Facility in Kogi State, on Monday, 22 May 2023.
The project was executed under the National MSME Clinics Shared Facility Scheme.
A statement by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Kogi Enterprise Development Agency, Hajia Rekiya Onaivo Sanni, which was made available to our correspondent recently, indicates that on arrival, the Vice President will be received by the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, then proceed to the Skills Center in Okene Local Government Area where the facility is cited for official commissioning and handing over.
The Fashion Shared Facility according to the statement, is a partnership between the Government of Kogi State and the Federal Government aimed at fostering collaboration amongst MSME Fashion Designers in Kogi State as well as providing an enabling environment for the fashion sub sector in the state to grow into serving the international markets.
“The world-class facility will as well provide small and medium-sized fashion businesses with access to high-quality equipment, and resources at affordable costs and provide training and technical assistance to entrepreneurs to help them grow and scale their businesses.
“The Kogi Fashion Shared Facility is equipped with high quality machines.
Hajia Rekiya Onaivo Sanni said the initiative which is being facilitated by her agency is highly transformational.
She added that the agency took delivery of 200 world-class manual and fully automated fashion equipment with a capacity to service 350 MSMEs daily and 110,000 yearly.
Hajiya Rekiya noted that the Fashion Shared Facility is purposely designed to reduce bottlenecks and provide practical and immediate responses to challenges faced by fashion designers as well as foster collaboration amongst them.
She urged prospective beneficiaries to see the project as an enterprise-friendly initiative that will promote economic growth and create job opportunities in Kogi.
