The new Group Managing Director, Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) Plc, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha has given marching orders to debtors of the company’s Micro Finance Bank Plc to as matter of urgency pay up loans given to them by the bank or he will go after them to recover the loans.

Dr. Asemakaha who came hard on those indebted to the company and have refused to pay in an interview with news men in Makurdi, the Benue State capital shortly after taking over the affairs of the company, decried the character problem of Benue people where people take loans and refuse to pay.

He insisted that all those indebted to the company must pay up their loans with immediate effect so that others will also benefit.

The financial expert maintained that if the government establishes a business and monies have been lent to people, it was incumbent on them to pay back so that others “will also have the same handshake”

The new GMD who was earlier addressing staff of the company after being ushered in by the outgoing acting Managing Director, Mr. Terungwa Chia Surma said as an accomplished professional and international finance consultant in several sectors of the economy, he was poised to change the narrative of the company.

Dr. Asemakaha who reiterated his commitment to reposition the company for optimal performance, assured management and staff of the company of a cordial working relationship. He sympathised with them over the non-payment of their salaries in the last five months due to freezing of all government accounts by the governor.

He promised that he would workout modalities to ensure immediate payment of salary arrears of staff and urged them to put in their best for the growth and development of the company.

He thanked Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia for finding him worthy of the appointment and promised to justify the confidence reposed in him.

In a remark, the out-gone acting Managing Director, Mr. Terungwa Chia Surma, expressed readiness to accord the new GMD his unwavering support and pledged his unalloyed loyalty.
