Eighteen candidates however contested the elections but only four of them were the top contenders.

The governor elect, Agbu Kefas was received by Governor Darius Ishaku in his home where he expressed his joy for winning the elections. He promised to maintain the dominance of PDP in Taraba by delivering good governance to the people.

“I am very happy today for this victory. As you can see, the victory has been sustained before now. I believe that I am going to build on that victory and even do more. I am going to fulfill all the promises I made because we want PDP to continue in Taraba. The people should continue to trust us and wait patiently for the new Taraba that they have all been waiting for,” he stated.

Governor Ishaku also expressed his satisfaction for the victory of Kefas and commended the media for being there for his government.

“I am delighted because I am going to handover to another PDP governor. Truly God is a Nigerian, but he resides in Taraba. I believe that. Were it not so, we would have been consumed.

“I thank you the press for being with us both in thick and thin. For being with us both in the sun and in the rain. I am happy with your performance particularly the coverage of this programme today,” Ishaku stated.
