The Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly (PLHA), Rt. Hon. Abok Nuhu Ayuba, has called on Nigerians particularly Christians, to emulate the lifestyle of Jesus Christ by promoting peace and peaceful co-existence.

The call which was delivered in a special goodwill message by his Press Secretary, Bulus Atang and made available to the SUNDAY, STANDARD is also felicitating with Christian faithful on the occasion of this year’s Christmas celebration.

According to the statement, celebrating the birthday of Jesus Christ should be an occasion for the renewal of all commitment and ideals that would enhance the peace and harmony in our society irrespective of which religion one belongs to.

While calling for sober reflection and the need to imbibe the virtues of forgiveness and tolerance, he stated that once there was peace in any given society, there will be room for development but where peace is non-existent, development becomes a mirage.

He however, admonished citizens to take all necessary precautions against Covid 19 throughout the yuletide period and appealed to religious leaders to join in sensitizing their followers on the need to observe all safety protocols including being security conscious.

Ayuba equally felicitated with the captain of the rescue administration and Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Simon Bako Lalong, calling on all clerics to continue to pray for his full recovery as well as for God’s intervention in bringing to an end the Coronavirus pandemic and other challenges confronting the nation.
