THE Plateau State Governorship Election Tribunal sitting at the High Court Jos, has received two witnesses and duplicates of voter’s register for over eight hundred and twenty-two (822) Polling Units in ninety-two wards of fifteen (15) Local Government Areas of as subpoena in a petition filed by Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe (APC) against INEC, PDP and Caleb Mutfwang.

A director of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Abuja, Festus Aisien, delivered these documents Monday at the tribunal following an order by the Governorship Election Tribunal Committee last Friday to submit the duplicates of voter’s register as evidence before the tribunal.

Presenting the documents, the director said he has brought two “Gana-Must-Go” bags containing duplicates of voter’s register for 822 polling units of 95 wards in fifteen (15) out of seventeen (17) local government areas of the state with the receipt of payment made.

However, Counsel to the 1st Respondent (INEC), Barr. CD Gyang, suggested that the documents should be marked as presented to avoid rising objections that may delay the proceedings of this hearing because they have limited time to handle this petition.

On his part, Counsel to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Emeka Etiaba, SAN, raised concern that the petitioners did not follow the documents to mark them accordingly before bringing them to the tribunal to avoid unnecessary delay of the proceedings.

Responding, Counsel to the petitioner, Ade said, the documents were requested by the tribunal and they have no jurisdiction to temper or hijack the subpoena or rather, receive on behalf of the tribunal and submit them as subpoena.

In the same vein, one Emmanuel Nannil, of Batkilang Polling Unit who was APC Returning Officer of Zamko Ward, Langtang-North LGA, has testified before the tribunal that there was no collation of results because of over voting at Zamko Central (EC8 009) and the result was cancelled, but wondered how the document given to him at the tribunal was indicating contrary.

Also before the tribunal, was one Nanbol Nimmyel Nwale, of Langtang-North LGA who was the APC Agent at Zamko Central Code 009. He raised an alarm that the result sheet was forged because he did not sign the result due to over voting but that the document presented to him to verify has the name of one Gampyal Pyenzai as APC agent who signed the result sheet instead of him, the authentic APC agent.
