GOVERNOR Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State has mobilized all contractors to sites and vowed to complete all the Legacy Projects spread across the seventeen Local Government Areas of the state before the end of his tenure come May 29, 2023.

He stated this Friday while speaking at the official flag off campaign of Member, representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, held at the Pankshin Mini Stadium of Pankshin Local Government Area, Plateau State.

The Governor said, “we are not like people who see continuity as a challenge and would want to dump inherited projects and start a fresh one. I have no doubt in the gubernatorial candidate that we brought. If I had any doubt about Nentawe, I do not think he would have emerged as the gubernatorial candidate of APC. I did not have a doubt about him, and I will not.

“All we are saying is, we have done well, and we need somebody to come and continue with our good legacy. We do not want somebody that will come and tell me that I will not continue with the legacy projects because it was Lalong’s projects so I will start my own separately. No! The projects are not for Lalong but the people of Plateau State.

“And for your information, some people are praying that the legacy project will fail. I just told them that by the next week, all the legacy projects are set to resume work in earnest. We have mobilized all the contractors to site, and they will start work and complete within one or two months. All my Legacy Projects will be completed before the end of my tenure and there will no single one that will be left uncompleted”, he assured.

Lalong cleared air on what some doubting Thomases always say about project in Langkang-B- it would be abandoned saying, “that project will go immediately, and you will see the contractor back to site immediately. You will also see contractor back to Mangu bypass.

Earlier, the gubernatorial candidate of APC in Plateau State, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, thanked the Governor for giving him a strong support and promised to continue from where he stopped when elected to serve the people of Plateau State. And stated, “give me House of Assembly members who support me, and I will give you the Plateau of your dream!”

On his part, the Director General of Gagdi Campaign Council, Hon. Philip Peter Dasun, said history has been made today and that they have embarked on a journey of no return because the crowd witnessed at the flag off campaign was an indication of how popular Gagdi has been in the grassroots.

The Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Shehu Saleh Yipmong, commended Governor Lalong for his doggedness in keeping the fate of APC all these years and that a lot of good things would come when APC wins with winning PKK come February 25.

Meanwhile, the state APC Chairman, Hon. Rufus Bature, described Gagdi as an exceptional leader with capacity, composure, integrity and merit and called on the people PKK to go back to their polling units and vote APC because the promises made in 2015 by APC were fulfilled and more would come when APC comes again.
