An elder statesman and former Governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State, Alhaji Alhassan Muhammad Fawu has stated why he endorsed the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate in the state during the Presidential and National Houses of Assembly election.
Fawu, also a member of the PDP Elders Forum made the endorsement after a meeting with the NNPP Gubernatorial Candidate, Khamisu Ahmad Mailantarki, in the former’s residence.
Expressing his support for Mailantarki, Fawu stated that the choice of who should lead should not be on the basis of party but integrity, competence and capacity of the individual to deliver quality leadership to the people.
According to him, “I am from the PDP, but I have decided to support Mailantarki’s candidacy because he is a phenomenal young man with an uncommon capacity for quality performance, especially given his experience in the public sector”.
Fawu then called on all sons and daughters of the state to come out enmass on March 11th, 2023, to cast their vote for the NNPP candidate.
He said, voting for the NNPP candidate is the only means through which they can rescue the state from the misrule of the APC government.
