Naira will rain for NUBASS as Governor Bala Mohammed, assured the indigenous students of the state that all pending scholarship awards would be bankrolled before the end of January 2024.

The State Governor, Bala Mohammed, made the commitment while addressing leadership and members of National Union of Bauchi State Students (NUBASS) who went to congratulate him over his legal battle win at the Supreme Court.

He wondered why after granting approval for the disbursement of their scholarship, still some students are yet to receive their entitlements.

The governor who was represented by Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, gave the assurance that the government would direct relevant stakeholders including the Commissioner of Education and the Treasury office to investigate the reason for the delay in the process with a view to addressing the pending payments.

While appreciating the students for the solidarity visit, the governor again reiterated his administration’s commitment to the welfare of the students, as education is the backbone of every development.

Speaking earlier on behalf of the students, the NUBASS National President, Comrade Adam Muhammad Tukur, congratulated the governor for the victory at the Supreme Court. He also appealed to the state government to intervene and ensure that the affected students who were omitted in the last payment are immediately considered and paid.

According to him, about thirty percent of the students studying within and outside the state, are yet to receive the scholarship despite the governor’s approval

He therefore assured the government of the support of all the Indigenous students of Bauchi State to Governor Bala Mohammed’s led administration and wished him safe landing after the next four years of appreciable development in the state.
