Nigeria’s First Lady visits Jos

Wife of Nigeria’s President , Senator Oluremi Tinubu was in Jos, the Plateau State capital recently to commiserate and condole with the government and people of the state over the killings being meted to innocent citizens by bandits.

To that effect, she donated ₦500 million donation to be distributed to 500 displaced households in five local government areas affected by the crisis.

Presenting the cheque to the Executive Governor of the state, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Little Rayfield Jos , the wife of the President said she was deeply saddened by the incessant killings on the Plateau. She called on the killers to have a rethink and desist from such heinous acts.

Senator Tinubu emphasized the need for concrete actions to be taken so as to alleviate the suffering of the affected, stressing that the killings would not pay in any way.

The donation is meant for the affected local government areas of Mangu , Barkin -Ladi, Jos South, Riyom and Bassa Local Government Areas of the state. The wife of the President revealed that the donation represents the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to dialogue and reconciliation amongst Nigerians in order to foster lasting peace and unity not only in Plateau State but across the nation.

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang who received the donation, thanked the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu for the kind gesture, saying, it would go a long way in alleviating the suffering the crises has brought to the people of the state, most especially the people of the affected areas.

Governor Mutfwang who was visibly moved said his people do not deserve what they were facing because they are peaceful people who were now killed or displaced for no cause.

He thanked the wife of the President for coming to their aid at a time they needed such assistance most.

He promised that the distribution would be done accordingly and with the fear of God and wished her journey mercies to her destination.

Senator.Mrs. Tinubu has since returned to Abuja, the federal capital territory.
