Muslim PWB to partner NIS

The Executive Secretary, Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alh. Dayyabu Dauda has sought the support and collaboration of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Plateau State Command for a hitch free Hajj operations.

This was revealed in a statement signed by Yusuf Wase, Information Unit and made available to SUNDAY STANDARD.

The secretary made the appeal while on a courtesy call on the Service at its State Command, Federal Secretariat Jos.

Highlighting some of the areas they need the Service to give more attention to, the executive secretary Hon. Alh. Dayyabu Dauda says International Passport is a prerequisites for Hajj, hence the need to ensure the end of an era of delay in processing the e – Passport.

Dauda says the Muslim Pilgrims Board under his watch will do everything humanly possible to work hand in hand with the Immigration Service during the screening exercise which according to him, will help in ensuring orderliness throughout the operations.

” It is my hope and prayers that the Command will continue to open its doors for us, especially as regards to the issue of processing e-passport, assistance during screening of pilgrims, as the time is now for intending pilgrims from Plateau State to enjoy absolute welfare, both at home and in the holy land of Makka.”

In their separate contributions, Director of Administration and Director of Hajj Operations Aisha Ibrahim Sale and Alh. Murtala Magaji, reassured the Immigration Service of their readiness for a smooth exercise.

Responding, Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service, Plateau State , C Y Alaje while congratulating the executive secretary on his appointment, said the visit is apt and early plan is an antidote for avoidable mistakes. He commended the Executive Secretary and his management staff for the initiative which he described as a foundation for successful Hajj operation.

The Comptroller, however, frowned at the immediate past leadership of the board that started conducting screening of Intending pilgrims without informing the service as required. But was quick to add that with the coming on board of Hon. Alh. Dayyabu Dauda’s management team, the Service is confident that work will be done professionally. He promised to appoint a liaison officer to take care of correspondences
between the two agencies for a more cordial working relationship.
