GOVERNOR Caleb Mutfwang, of Plateau State has appealed to Nigerian citizens to be workers of peace initiative of the government by embracing one another towards the progress and development of Nigeria.

He made the appeal Monday, while in an interview with journalists on the occasion marking the end of Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration, held at the JD Gomwalk Secretariat, Jos, the state capital.

While commiserating with the families of Nigeria’s fallen heroes, the governor said, “We need to continue to remember our fallen heroes who paid the supreme price for our father land to protect our lives and property.

“We want to pay tribute to those who died in active service, those who got injured in the course of duty and to pray for their families that God will grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

“ We also pray to God to grant them the wherewithal to be able to pilot the affairs of life in the absence of their beloved ones.
“Today marks the formal end of the Armed Forces Remembrance week and we want to encourage those in active service that the nation will not forget them. We therefore, call on their patriotism and sense of duty to ensure that we are able to live our lives peacefully.

“It is of course, for us to continue to advocate and plead with our people that we must become workers of peace for the nation. We must come together and work for the peace initiative of the government for the progress and development of Nigeria”, he appealed.
Mutfwang, however, assured the Nigerian Legion and the families of the fallen heroes of the government’s commitment made at the launch of emblem Church Service to assist them. He said, “I made a commitment in church yesterday that this week we are going to fulfil those promises”
