 Buhari, Lalong,Tallen, others flag off  Binani’s campaign

Nigeria’s President Mohammadu Buhari has kept to his promise to be a part of the governorship campaign to flag off the only Nigerian female candidate, Sen. Aisha Binani in Yola, Adamawa State.

The campaign rally which took place on Monday, 9th January 2023 at the Mahmud Ribadu Square Yola was also to flag off the Presidential campaign bid of the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and his running mate, Sen. Kashim Shettima.

The rally attracted key party supporters including the National Chairman, Sen. Addulahi Adamu, the Presidential Campaign Council Chairman, Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State, Ministers, Governors, Senators, political office holders, businessmen and women and stakeholders from the public and private sectors cross the country.

Buhari in his remarks at the rally called on Nigerians to give their votes to his party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Tinubu.

Buhari urged the citizens of Adamawa State to equally vote the first female APC governorship candidate, Aishatu Binani who he said will lead the state credibly based on her good leadership records.

Raising the hands of the two candidates, Buhari said, “I am here to present to you the presidential candidate of our party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the governorship candidate in Adamawa, Aishatu Binani”.

He said he is confident Tinubu will ensure security, education and health care for Nigerians and work hard to give food security, education, which are all elements of good governance”.

The party’s National Chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu said the promise that the APC had made to Nigerian women has finally come into fruition with Binani’s candidature.

He assured that with the people’s support, Binani will lead Adamawa State as governor, while  Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will lead the country as president after the 2023 elections.

Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate popularly called ‘Jagaban’ in his remarks called for support to Binani. He stated that the APC wants to be the first party to send the first female elected governor in the country to the State, Yola.

The presidential candidate assured of security, jobs creation, employment, and banishing poverty in the country.

“We will get you employed and engage the citizens’ with job creation opportunities” Tinubu assured. And added that “I have worked so much for all of you. Nigeria is blessed, and we will ensure that there is an end to hunger and poverty”.

His running mate Kashim Shettiima appreciated the President for his solidarity for the inclusion of women in politics.

“Today you will tell Nigerians that you love women. It is from Adamawa that you took your wife, a beautiful and humble kindhearted woman”.

“And it is in Adamawa that you will produce the first female Governor of Nigeria, Aisha Binani, by the grace of God”.

“We are going to support her to be the brand-new female Governor for Nigeria,” he said as he also urged Nigerians to give them the chance to lead the oil-rich nation.

The Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, and Plateau Governor Simon Bako Lalong who chanted, “Women, today use your day” called out all the female stakeholders including wife of APC Vice Presidential candidate, Nana Shettiima, Nigeria’s Women Affairs Minister, Dame Pauline Tallen, politicians, key office holders, wives of former politicians, among others to drum their support for Binani.

The women all took turns to speak and called for support from all Nigerians to make Binani’s governorship ambition come into fruition.

While praying for her victory, the Minister for Women Affairs specifically described the emergence of Binani as “A call from God” and urged Adamawa women and people to make history.

In her remarks, at the APC Adamawa State Presidential and Governorship campaign rally, Sen. Aishatu Binani, flanked by all party stakeholders on the podium expressed gladness that Adamawa State will be on the political limelight if she is voted alongside Kashim Shettima who hails from the state.

She used the forum to extend an olive branch by calling on her contenders who lost out in the primaries, and court cases including all aggrieved parties to shed their grievances and come and join hands with her, for the sake of the party, to build a formidable force as one family to win the governorship elections.

She assured of a better economy, end to salary challenges faced by civil servants, if they vote her and the APC presidential candidate Tinubu.
