FCE Pankshin gets new Provost

The Deputy Provost of the Federal College of Education, Pankshin Dr. Mrs. Christiana Fwenji Zumyil, has taken over from the Former Provost, Dr. Amos Bulus Cirfat, who went on retirement after turning sixty-five (65) years as the new acting Provost of the College.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Public Relations Executive of the Institution, Mr. Istifanus Kyakmut, MNIPR and made available to SUNDAY STANDARD in Jos, the Plateau State capital recently, shortly after the handing over ceremony by the out-gone Provost.
Performing the handing over ceremony before the College community at the usual College Staff Forum, the out-gone Provost Dr. Amos Bulus Cirfat, said, he was grateful to the Federal Government for the opportunity to serve in that capacity for over six years saying, “I am happy to live behind an improved institution both in manpower development, students’ enrolment and physical infrastructure which has increased learning capacities in the system.
“I would like to commend the collective efforts of all Staff for their support and sacrifices during my tenure that saw to the achievements recorded and I want to appeal that, such spirit of hard work be sustained to take educational development to higher heights in the College”, he appealed.
Dr. Cirfat, also used the opportunity to appeal for more funding to the Institution to address increased demands in view of numerous challenges particularly for the overall fencing of the College given the security situation of kidnapping and banditry across the country.
He, therefore, pledged his resolve to remain as an Ambassador of the College in all ways possible in the interest of quality teacher development in the College and the Country at large because the institution has over the years been a pace setter in grooming quality teachers across the country.
Receiving the handover documents from the outgoing Provost, the Acting Provost Dr. Mrs Christiana Fwenji Zumyil, said, she was taking over the responsibility with every sense of commitment and determination by putting in her best to move the College forward.
She promised to carry all staff along in the running of the administration and that, “as Acting Provost, I would like to appeal for the cooperation of all and sundry to collectively achieve the objectives of the College which is their primary responsibility in the college.
On her part while delivering Vote of Thanks, the Registrar of the College Nna Elizabeth Y. Homsuk appreciated the College community for the support given to the outgoing Provost and appealed that same commitment be accorded the acting Provost.
There were goodwill messages from various groups and unions in the College who all eulogised the good quality of the outgiong Provost Dr. Amos Bulus Cirfat for his exemplary leadership quality while in office.
